Frontier Nuclear and Minerals (NASDAQ:FNUC) has signed an agreement with DISA Technologies to extract uranium and critical minerals from historical waste dumps at the Maybell uranium project in Colorado.

Under the terms of the transaction, DISA will fully fund and operate the remediation program. Frontier will incur zero capital or operating expenditures while retaining a sliding-scale net revenue royalty of 2.5 to 4 percent.

Located in Moffat County, the Maybell site covers 9,497 acres comprising 480 federal mining claims and one state exploration lease.

Historical operations at the property previously yielded 5.3 million pounds of U3O8. Ground surveys have identified 17 separate prospective waste dumps on the property to date.

DISA will deploy its modular High-Pressure Slurry Ablation (HPSA) system across the site. The chemical-free process utilizes high-velocity slurry collisions to separate target minerals from aggregated waste material.

According to an independent treatability study conducted by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the HPSA technology reduces uranium concentrations in treated material by 61 to 94 percent, with comparable reductions in radium-226.

The EPA found the process concentrates over 90 percent of the uranium into just 17 percent of the total processed mass. This leaves the remaining bulk material clean enough to stay on site, significantly reducing regulated disposal volumes.

“We are pleased to have partnered with DISA to apply its breakthrough process to remediate abandoned uranium mine waste at our Maybell Project, and to recover valuable uranium and critical minerals, while addressing the environmental impacts of historical uranium mining,” Frontier CEO Frank Wheatley said in the announcement.

“With uranium demand at multi-decade highs and the US Government actively prioritizing domestic critical mineral recovery, the timing could not be better to unlock the value contained in our Maybell project’s legacy waste dumps,” Wheatley added.

DISA will launch a six-month characterization program using assay and gamma probes to quantify recoverable minerals before applying for necessary operational permits.

In September 2025, DISA became the first company to receive a Service Providers License from the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), providing a clear regulatory pathway for legacy waste remediation.

The federal government is actively supporting these initiatives under Secretarial Order No. 3436, which mandates federal agencies to prioritize domestic mineral recovery from existing mine waste.

Recent directives from the US Administration aim to quadruple domestic nuclear capacity by 2050, a target projected to push national uranium demand from 47 million pounds to approximately 190 million pounds annually.

The Colorado agreement advances parallel to Frontier’s international exploration portfolio. The company is currently finalizing a maiden mineral resource estimate for its Engo Valley uranium project in…

TL;DR

SecondFi, formerly known as Yoroi and developed by Emurgo, was hit by a Cardano wallet security incident.

The exploit reportedly drained about $2.4 million in ADA from 374 addresses.

SecondFi has outlined a two-week recovery plan to restore funds to affected users.

SecondFi Moves To Repair Damage After Cardano Wallet Exploit

SecondFi has outlined a structured recovery plan after a Cardano wallet security incident reportedly drained about $2.4 million worth of ADA from 374 addresses.

The wallet platform, formerly known as Yoroi and developed by Emurgo, is now working through a two-week process aimed at restoring funds to affected users. The incident was tied to a flaw in wallet-generation software, according to the hydration notes, which makes this more serious than a simple phishing wave or user-side mistake.

For Cardano users, the key issue is trust. Self-custody wallets are supposed to give users control. When a wallet-generation bug leads to losses, the damage is not only financial. It also forces users to question the tools they rely on to interact with the network.

Why Wallet Bugs Are So Sensitive

Crypto users are used to hearing about hacks, exploits, and drained wallets. But not all security incidents are the same.

If a user signs a malicious transaction, the lesson is usually about caution and wallet hygiene. If a protocol contract is exploited, the focus turns to code audits and smart contract design. But when the problem sits inside wallet-generation software, the concern becomes more basic: did users ever have a fair chance to protect themselves?

That is why SecondFi’s recovery plan matters. A clear reimbursement or restoration process can limit long-term reputational damage. A slow or confusing process can make things worse, even if the technical issue is fixed.

The reported two-week timeline gives users something concrete to watch. The company now has to show that affected addresses are identified accurately, that funds are returned transparently, and that the underlying weakness has been resolved.

The Bigger Cardano Impact

For Cardano, this incident is not necessarily a network-level failure. Wallet software and blockchain consensus are different layers. But users often experience them as one ecosystem. If a major wallet has a serious issue, confidence can spill over into the broader chain narrative.

That is why communication matters. Cardano has a strong community and a long-running focus on formal methods, security, and careful development. A wallet exploit tied to generation software cuts against that image, even if the core network remains unaffected.

The constructive side is that SecondFi has not gone silent. A recovery plan is better than vague reassurance. But the story…

Shipping traffic is recovering a week after the U.S. and Iran signed a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz — but a renewed attack on a cargo ship Thursday threw fresh uncertainty over the fragile passage, halting the United Nations’ evacuation plan and sending some tankers into reverse.

In the week following the ceasefire announcement, 125 transits were recorded between June 15-21, marking the highest weekly total since the war began in late February, as tankers rushed to move stored Gulf crude before the 60-day truce window expires.

On June 24, AXS Marine recorded 62 commercial vessel crossings, the highest single-day count since the war started, but only equivalent to 53% of the traffic on the same day last year.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on Wednesday declared that all ships must use only its northern route and comply with Iranian routing instructions. Hours later, the Ever Lovely — a Singapore-flagged Evergreen container ship — was struck on its starboard side by a projectile off the Omani coast. A U.S. official said the IRGC had carried out the strike. It was the first attack on a cargo vessel since the ceasefire took effect.

Located in the gulf between Oman and Iran, the Strait of Hormuz is recognized as one of the world’s most critical energy chokepoints. The narrow waterway typically handles around 20% of the world’s oil traffic.

Shipowners are left navigating two competing authorities with no agreed rules, with a northern corridor under Iranian control and a southern passage through Omani waters. The standard pre-war commercial lane remains closed due to mines.

Companies are confronted with a difficult choice: take the risk to transit, or hold back and potentially cede ground to rivals willing to take that risk.

Bruce Tan, a Singapore-based electronics manufacturer who held back deliveries to Middle East clients for four months, said he had begun moving goods through the corridor again, but only in small batches, in case the Strait closes again. Tan is also routing some orders through alternative corridors as a hedge against another closure.

It was a bumpy week for gold and silver prices, which took a break from responding to geopolitical tensions to react to the latest US Federal Reserve interest rate decision.

As was widely expected, the central bank left rates unchanged at 3.5 to 3.75 percent. However, the move came with the highest number of dissents since 1992.

Gold finished the week at about US$4,615 per ounce, down from nearly US$4,700 at the start of the period; silver fared better, closing at US$75.27 per ounce, not far from where it began.

Attracting more attention that rates was the Fed leadership transition. Jerome Powell’s term as chair expires on May 15, meaning that this week’s meeting was likely his last in the position.

While there’s been some uncertainty about whether nominee Kevin Warsh will be okayed to take over, this week he was voted through by the Senate Banking Committee. Now all that’s left is for the Senate to approve him. That’s expected to happen the week of May 11.

But even if that goes smoothly, Powell won’t be out of the picture quite yet.

He said this week that he plans to retain his position on the Fed’s board, marking the first time a chair has stayed on the board as a governor since 1948.

Powell’s decision stems from concerns about Fed independence. US President Donald Trump has been critical of the central bank, and Powell in particular, for not lowering rates as quickly as he would like — Trump has implied that Warsh will fall in line with what he wants.

Powell has also been facing a Department of Justice criminal investigation that he believes was motivated by rate decisions. Although it was dropped this week, he indicated that he won’t leave his Fed board position until it is “well and truly over with finality and transparency.”

These circumstances are raising questions about what Warsh will really be like as Fed chair, and the experts I spoke to this week were keen to share their thoughts.

Lynette Zang of Zang International said she’s skeptical about how much will change:

“I was listening to Kevin Warsh in front of the Senate Banking Committee, and he said that he had a different definition for price stability. And so my ears perked up, right? Because the current definition of central bank price stability is inflation moving slow enough that the public does not change their spending patterns. Rather, they simply take on more debt to attempt to sustain their standard of living.

“So when he said, ‘I have a different definition,’ I was very keen on, what is that definition? And what he said was, ‘That prices move slowly enough that people don’t notice.’ It seems like the same definition to me.”

Gareth Soloway of VerifiedInvesting.com also weighed in on comments Warsh has made, saying his thoughts on how to measure inflation are worrying:

“When he was testifying in front of Congress for his confirmation hearing, he (talked) about changing the way inflation is is monitored, or how the numbers come out. In other words, what he was saying is that what ……

Alligator Energy Limited (ASX: AGE, ‘Alligator’ or ‘the Company’) is pleased to provide an update on the completion of the first well pattern at the Samphire Uranium Project Field Recovery Trial (“FRT”), representing a key milestone in demonstrating in-situ recovery (“ISR”) performance under field conditions.

The first well pattern has now progressed through the planned recovery cycle, delivering outstanding results that are consistent with, and in many areas exceeding the assumptions outlined in Alligator’s Scoping Study as well as internal models. Importantly, the trial confirms the strong technical viability of recovering uranium from the Samphire palaeochannel system using ISR and underpins the projects economic assumptions in Alligator’s Scoping Study.

Highlights

Uranium was successfully extracted from first well test pattern hitting AGE’s target of 70% recovery over 70 pore volume exchanges.

The extractor well delivered flow rates of more than 5 L/s in pump testing surpassing typical global ISR well flow rates of 0.5-3 L/s (driven by favourable permeability), confirming effective fluid movement within the mineralised zone.

Average grade of uranium in solution from the test pattern was 115 ppm U₃O₈, exceeding Alligator’s Updated Scoping Study1 (“Scoping Study”) assumptions, sitting at the upper end of the 70–120 ppm range observed across ISR operations globally.

Trial reagent consumption aligns with highly favourable international benchmarks.

Ion exchange and elution (loading and stripping uranium from resin) process highly efficient using a simple reagent mix, demonstrating Alligator’s chloride mitigation strategy works and clear optimisation upside.

Key takeaways include:

Strong permeability performance, confirming effective fluid movement and connectivity within the mineralised zone.

Uranium recoveries achieving benchmark of 70% within approximately 70 pore volumes, demonstrating favourable leaching kinetics and efficient uranium mobilisation.

Strong wellfield flow, with flow rates exceeding 5 L/s, confirming favourable permeability relative to typical ISR operations.

Reagent consumption aligns with “highly favourable category” under international benchmarks indicating efficient leaching conditions and limited reagent losses.

Robust solution grades, with an average of 115 mg/L U₃O₈, supporting effective uranium dissolution and alignment with upper-end global ISR benchmarks.

Salinity management and groundwater chemistry conditions did not adversely impact recovery performance, supporting stable ISR operating conditions.

Wellfield control and stability were maintained throughout the trial, with no material deviations in hydraulic behaviour or flow distribution.

Ion exchange and elution recovery process in the plant successfully demonstrated, confirming downstream processing viability with clear optimisation upside.

Importantly, the trial confirms the strong technical viability of uranium recovery from the…

The luxury conglomerate missed sales expectations with organic growth in the quarter amounting to 1%, missing FactSet estimates of 1.5%.

LVMH also flagged a 1% negative impact from the Iran war in the quarter.

“When the conflict started, and in the month of March, there was a shortfall and a deterioration of demand between 30% and 70%, depending on the malls, depending on the businesses,” LVMH CFO Cécile Cabanis said on a call with analysts late Monday, referring to the Middle East region which accounts for about 6% of group sales.

It’s “anybody’s guess” what the outcome of the conflict will be, Cabanis said. “What we have not seen yet is repatriation, and what we know is that the wealth has not evaporated, so there will be a time where we’ll see that coming, probably elsewhere, and mitigate the impact, should the conflict continue.”

“Party postponed,” said Berstein analyst Luca Solca in a note. The luxury sector had begun to show signs of recovery after a years-long slump prompted by soft demand from Chinese consumers, formerly one of the sector’s main growth drivers.

Even if results were better than a year ago, “this is likely not enough to convince investors to step off the fence,” Solca said. In the first quarter of 2025, overall organic sales declined by 3%.

LVMH stock fell 0.7% in morning trading in Paris, adding to a 27% loss year-to-date. The pan-European blue-chip Stoxx 600 index rose 0.7% amid hopes that U.S.-Iran peace talks could resume following the U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

Ring founder Jamie Siminoff said Tuesday that Ring does not store deleted doorbell footage without a subscription, as questions continue over how law enforcement recovered previously inaccessible video evidence in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie.

Siminoff addressed the issue during an appearance on “The Bottom Line,” where hosts Dagen McDowell and Brian Brenberg asked about subscription storage, privacy concerns and the reported recovery of doorbell video by federal authorities.

“I do know with Ring specifically, if you delete a recording or if you don’t want a recording, you don’t have a subscription. We do not have it stored. I know that because I built the systems with my team,” Siminoff said.

Siminoff cautioned against speculating about the specifics of the Guthrie investigation and noted that different companies build their systems differently.

“I wouldn’t want to speculate,” he said. “Maybe they’re also, maybe we’re wrong, and that she did have some sort of subscription.
“I mean, definitely hard to speculate on something like this because, you know, everybody builds their systems differently,” he said.

Starbucks is headed for a major transformation in 2026. After a difficult 18 months marked by slowing U.S. traffic, inconsistent execution, higher labor and restructuring costs, and persistent weakness in China, the coffee giant’s shares have struggled to find their footing. Still, we believe Starbucks is one of the five high-quality Club stocks poised for a significant rebound in 2026 . Starbucks Year-to-date performance: down 8% Forward price-to-earnings multiple: 33.3 versus a five-year average of 27.8 Our rating: Buy-equivalent 1 rating Our price target: $100 a share SBUX YTD mountain SBUX stock performance year-to-date. A turnaround is still on track, with CEO Brian Niccol at the helm. Niccol, who has been in the role for a little over a year, wants to regain full operational discipline, rebuild customer trust, and prove he can deliver the same brand and growth acceleration he achieved when he led the fast-food chain Chipotle . Jim Cramer reminds investors that Starbucks is a ” long-term turn ” due to the scale of its restructuring and the complexity of its challenges. Ultimately, 2026 should be the year Starbucks’ turnaround takes clearer shape if the company delivers on these three things. 1. The company must fix its core U.S. business. Niccol’s Green Apron reinvention plan — centered on simplifying store operations, reducing wait times, and getting drinks to customers faster — must begin to show measurable improvements in throughput and customer satisfaction. Starbucks unveiled the Green Apron model back in July, committing $500 million to the effort. It’s Starbucks’ largest investment in operations and customer service in company history. There have already been signs of progress. U.S. company-operated comparable store sales, for example, turned positive in September, management said in its latest quarter . Starbucks noted that sales momentum remained positive through October as well. That’s a welcome development, but investors want to see a stronger breakthrough. Once investors see more proof that Niccol’s investments translate to faster lines, higher peak-hour beverage output, stronger traffic trends, and ultimately more sales, that should be a catalyst for the stock. That’s not all that could move the needle. 2. If Starbucks can better show its value proposition to customers, the coffee giant can increase its transaction volumes. As seen during the holiday shopping season, consumers are increasingly seeking value —a high-quality experience at an affordable price. This is especially true for discretionary purchases such as beverages and snacks. Starbucks has moved to innovate its menu and offer more compelling drinks, including its latest protein drink line. Improving engagement with the Starbucks Rewards member cohort could be another lever for growth. However, some Wall Street analysts argue that, with elevated restructuring and marketing investments and coffee inflation, Starbucks may face headwinds in the first half of…
