Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Solana traded near the $73 area as traders watched a mix of ETF-flow signals, ecosystem activity, and new integration pilots for signs of whether the network can hold its recent range.

Public market and ecosystem updates point to positive ETF inflows, a Solana Pay proof-of-concept pilot with KSNET in South Korea, and MoneyGram joining as a validator. Those are useful ecosystem signals, though they should not be treated as a guarantee that SOL will hold any particular price level.

That distinction matters because price commentary can easily run ahead of the underlying developments.

Solana’s network activity, institutional access, and payment integrations are all relevant. But a token trading near $73 still depends on broader market conditions, liquidity, and risk appetite.

TL;DR

SOL traded near the $73 area.

Supportive signals include ETF flows and ecosystem integrations.

Price targets should not be treated as certain outcomes.

Why Solana’s Range Matters

Solana has become one of the most watched large-cap crypto assets because it combines high activity, fast settlement, active developer culture, and strong retail trading interest.

When SOL holds a key range, traders pay attention because the asset often acts as a proxy for risk appetite in the altcoin market.

But the range itself is only part of the story.

The more useful question is whether Solana’s ecosystem continues generating reasons for capital to stay interested. That is where ETF flows, payment pilots, validator additions, and app activity come in.

If those signals remain positive, the market may be more willing to defend the range.

ETF Flows Add An Institutional Layer

Solana ETF inflows matter because they give investors a regulated access route.

Even modest inflows can help the narrative that Solana is moving deeper into institutional portfolios. That does not mean ETFs drive every price move, but they can influence sentiment and liquidity over time.

The key is persistence.

One or two good flow days can be noise. Sustained inflows suggest a stronger shift in investor allocation.

For SOL, ETF-related demand is especially important because Solana’s market has historically been heavily crypto-native. Regulated products can broaden the investor base.

KSNET Pilot Points To Payments

The Solana Pay proof-of-concept with KSNET in South Korea adds a different kind of signal.

Payment pilots do not always become large-scale adoption. Many remain experiments. But they matter because they test whether blockchain rails can fit into real merchant or payment infrastructure.

For Solana, payments are one of the more natural use cases because the network is built around speed and low fees.

If Solana Pay integrations expand, they could give the network more practical utility beyond trading, DeFi, and memecoins.

Again, the word is “could.” A…

Chainlink CCIP Joins Central Bank Digital Asset Pilots

Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol is being used in central bank digital asset and tokenized settlement pilots, putting CCIP inside one of the more important institutional experiments in blockchain infrastructure.

The validated materials point to Chainlink’s role in pilots connected to Brazil’s Drex initiative and Hong Kong’s Ensemble network, as well as HKMA’s e-HKD+ work involving ANZ Bank’s A$DC. These are not commercial production systems. They are trials and experiments, but they matter because they show how public blockchain infrastructure concepts are being tested by regulated institutions.

For Chainlink, the significance is clear.

CCIP is being positioned as a cross-chain messaging and settlement layer for environments where security, interoperability, and compliance matter. Central bank pilots are exactly the kind of setting where those requirements are strict.

TL;DR

Chainlink CCIP is being used in central bank digital asset pilots.

The work involves experiments connected to Brazil’s Drex, Hong Kong’s Ensemble, and e-HKD+ initiatives.

These are trials, not full commercial production deployments.

Why Central Bank Pilots Matter

Central bank digital asset pilots are easy to dismiss because many never become full production systems.

But pilots still matter. They reveal what institutions are testing, which infrastructure models are being considered, and where the future of settlement may move.

In this case, the theme is interoperability.

A digital asset system is not very useful if it cannot interact with other networks, currencies, or settlement environments. Cross-border trade, tokenized deposits, CBDCs, stablecoins, and tokenized assets all require secure communication between systems.

That is where Chainlink CCIP enters the picture.

The protocol is designed to send messages and transfer value across chains. In institutional pilots, that capability can be used to test payment-versus-payment settlement, cross-border asset movement, and connectivity between different digital asset networks.

Drex, Ensemble, And e-HKD+

Brazil’s Drex project and Hong Kong’s Ensemble network are part of a broader institutional push to explore tokenized settlement.

Drex is Brazil’s digital real initiative, while Ensemble is Hong Kong’s tokenization sandbox. Connecting these types of systems can help test whether tokenized trade and payment flows can settle more efficiently across borders.

The e-HKD+ program adds another layer, especially with ANZ’s A$DC involvement.

Together, these pilots show that institutions are not only experimenting with isolated digital currencies. They are testing how different tokenized systems might communicate.

That is important because the future is unlikely to be one…

When Spirit Airlines shut down before dawn on May 2, work for pilot Steve Giordano was just beginning.

Giordano, managing partner of the Nomadic Aviation Group, told CNBC he organized a massive repossession of more than 20 Spirit planes that lessors wanted returned.

In just over a week, he said he and his team ferried 23 Spirit planes from airports around the country to the Arizona desert. Just hours earlier, those bright yellow Airbus jets had been flying Spirit customers.

Giordano, who runs Nomadic with co-founder Bob Allen, was starting to hear in the late morning on May 1 that his team would be at work soon. “We finally got the trigger pulled to start moving crews at 6 p.m.” on May 1, he said. Spirit shut down at 3 a.m. ET the next morning.

So Nomadic and hired pilots — some of whom were previously flying for Spirit — began ferrying the aircraft out West with no customers on board to special airports outside of Phoenix and Tuscon, Arizona, where they’ll be stored for now.

Retired or otherwise unused aircraft are often parked out in the desert because the climate reduces the risk of corrosion or other damage. Airlines parked thousands of them there when travel collapsed in the Covid pandemic.

Nomadic organizes everything from getting fuel for the planes it’s flying to ensuring the aircraft have necessary inspections and crews for the flights.

Unlike with an airline that has a large staff of dispatchers, mechanics and pilots, “when you’re out on a mission like this, there’s a lot more responsibility as far as getting the mission accomplished,” Giordano told CNBC. “To be honest, the easy part of this is the flying part of it.”

Nomadic is a specialist in aviation. The company typically transports aircraft to new customers around the world. Rarely, the company’s work also means repossessing planes for leasing firms or other owners when an airline liquidates.

“It’s certainly the least frequent type of operation that we do,” Giordano said.

Major airline shutdowns in the U.S. are rare, and Spirit’s collapse was the biggest in decades. Earlier this month, Spirit began the long process of dismantling the discount carrier in bankruptcy court.

Part of that liquidation process involves returning planes to the lessors, which is where Nomadic Aviation comes in. According to a court filing, Spirit had 114 Airbus A320 planes, and 66 of them were leased.

Giordano said he was so busy before one Spirit repossession flight that he forgot to eat.

“By the time I got to the airplane, I’m like, ‘Oh no, I’m really hungry and there’s not going to be any options until we get to Arizona,'” Giordano said. “One of the mechanics said, ‘Hey, all the galley carts are full.’ So it had all the normal Spirit snacks. I think I had some Milano cookies. … I had a couple snack boxes with cheese. It was basically free and unlimited.”

Not everything was free for the…

British Airways is offering a financial incentive to its pilots who reduce their planes’ fuel consumption, as the U.S.-Iran war continues to plague travel and drive up jet fuel prices.

The airline’s pilots would have to cut their aircraft’s carbon dioxide emissions by 60,000 tons more than their 2025 levels to receive a bonus worth 1% of their base pay, according to documents viewed by Bloomberg News and reported on Tuesday.

British Airways confirmed to CNBC that it’s working with the British Airline Pilots’ Association (BALPA) on this initiative and said it’s “fully committed to making improvements to colleagues’ experience at work,” in a statement.

Members of the BALPA will vote on the proposal at the end of April and it is expected to go into effect next year, a person familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.

“BALPA and British Airways are exploring potential changes to terms and conditions for pilots at British Airways, including ways in which pilots can continue to contribute to the company’s sustainability goals,” BALPA said in a statement to CNBC.

The trade union, which says it represents 85% of pilots in the U.K., added that “any proposed changes to terms and conditions will be put to members to vote upon.”

Jet fuel prices surge

The initiative comes as global airlines continue to struggle with soaring jet fuel prices amid the U.S. war with Iran. Iran’s blockage of the Strait of Hormuz, through which about 20% of global oil supply passes, has caused prices to surge to over $100 per barrel.

International benchmark Brent crude last added nearly 5% to trade at $107 per barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate futures climbed 4.2% to $94 per barrel.

Meanwhile, jet fuel prices have also surged about 106% compared to a month ago, according to data from the week ending March 20, via the International Air Transport Association.

Airlines are looking at a range of measures from charging higher ticket fares to canceling less profitable flights.

China’s Cathay Pacific increased its fuel surcharge in response to the Middle East conflict, saying it’s an important mitigation tactic to offset rising fuel costs, which made up 30% of its total operating costs in 2025.

Buy now, pay later giant Affirm is looking to help renters break up housing payments in ways that align with their biweekly paychecks.

Affirm is piloting a program in partnership with financial technology platform Esusu that will allow renters to split their monthly rent in two equal payments every two weeks at 0% APR. There are no hidden or late fees, or compounding interest with this pilot program, either, according to Affirm.

Esusu helps renters build credit by reporting their on-time rent payments to major credit bureaus.

The company didn’t confirm when the pilot program would be officially rolled out as it is still in the early stages of the pilot.

LendingTree’s chief consumer finance analyst Matt Schulz told FOX Business that this could be useful to those on a tight budget, but he cautioned that it is too soon to make a final judgment.

“This is just another example of how it is getting easier seemingly by the day for people to use BNPL to finance most anything,” Schulz said.

He noted that this doesn’t appear to be a typical pay-in-four BNPL loan, which, if it was, he cautioned that there could be serious risks. For instance, Schulz noted that a consumer could still have people paying off the previous month’s BNPL loan for rent when the next month’s rent comes due.

“That could get messy,” he said, adding that this financial tool can be really useful when used wisely, but “the danger with BNPL is when you have multiple loans that you have to manage.”

The union that represents Air Transat’s pilots said on Wednesday that its members have voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike.

While the results give the pilot union’s governing body the authority to declare a strike as soon as Dec. 10, it is not in itself an immediate strike notice, the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) said in a news release.

Air Transat stressed that this is a “common step in the collective bargaining process” and that operations were continuing as normal.

“The goal remains to negotiate a collective agreement that satisfies both parties, reflects market realities and those of the company, and recognizes the contribution of our pilots. We are confident that we will reach an agreement and thereby avoid any impact on our customers’ travel plans,” Air Transat said in a statement to CBC News.

Negotiations between ALPA and the airline began in January, three months before the collective agreement was set to expire.

A representative for the union said it is seeking a collective agreement that protects job security and improves “working conditions, compensation, and quality of life.” Over 99 per cent of the pilots who cast a ballot voted in favour of a strike if necessary, according to the union.

The two parties left conciliation on Nov. 18. They are currently in a 21-day cooling-off period that ends on Dec. 10, according to the union.

“This vote sends an undeniable message to Air Transat management: We are unified, resolute and have earned a contract that reflects today’s industry standards, not the standards from 2015,” said Bradley Small, chair of the Air Transat ALPA master executive council, in a press release.

In an interview with CBC News, Small added that he thinks the current contract Air Transat pilots are working under is at the “bottom of the barrel,” compared to the agreements WestJet and Air Canada pilots have.

“We don’t want to strike, we want a fair deal for a modern contract,” Small said.

Last October, Air Canada pilots, who are also represented by the ALPA union, ratified a four-year collective agreement that increased their wages by about 42 per cent cumulatively. And in 2023, WestJet’s pilots negotiated a 24 per cent pay bump over four years, which experts said at the time set a new standard for labour gains in the aviation industry.

Karl Moore, airline expert and associate professor at McGill University’s Desautels Faculty of Management, says the vote in favour of authorizing a strike isn’t a surprise because the threat of a strike over the holiday season — when airlines are at their busiest — is a good negotiating tactic.
