Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Crypto does not move on one kind of catalyst. Some days it is price, some days it is policy, and some days it is infrastructure. Kraken API Partner Program Introduces Developer Upgrade Features sits inside that mix, and it gives readers a useful snapshot of where attention is moving today.

For more details, visit the official Kraken platform.

TL;DR

Kraken API Partner Program Introduces Developer Upgrade Features is the main story for Kraken today.

Kraken Pro launching API partner program expansions optimizes developer tooling options.

The cleaner read is to focus on what Kraken actually shows, not to overstate what the update proves.

Why The Source Matters

Exchange updates matter when they reveal where liquidity, user access, and product distribution are moving next. That is the lens I would use here. The update is not valuable because it gives traders a magic answer. It is valuable because it adds another reliable data point to a market that has been moving quickly and, at times, messily.

Discuss how the partner tier benefits relate to algorithmic trading desks. That detail is important because it gives the story a specific centre of gravity. Without that, it would be too easy to turn this into a generic market move or a recycled headline.

For readers, the useful question is not simply whether Kraken is getting attention. It is whether the underlying development changes access, liquidity, regulatory clarity, infrastructure reliability, or trader positioning. In this case, the answer is that it does give the market something concrete to evaluate.

The source trail matters here. The article is based on Kraken, which is a cleaner starting point than relying on second-hand summaries or social chatter.

The Cleaner Way To Read It

The immediate read is also different depending on who is watching. Traders may focus on price and liquidity, while builders or compliance teams may care more about the rule, integration, product, or infrastructure detail. That split is exactly why the story is worth handling as a standalone article rather than burying it in a broader recap.

There is also a timing element. The July 15 update arrives after several sessions where crypto markets have been sensitive to macro headlines, ETF flows, regulatory signals, and exchange-level product changes. Any credible update that touches one of those channels is going to attract attention.

What should be avoided is the temptation to turn one development into a sweeping conclusion. A listing is not the same thing as adoption. A price rebound is not the same thing as a confirmed trend reversal. A new rulemaking step is not the same thing as final legal certainty. The value is in the narrower, more accurate read.

Exchange product updates can look small, but they often show where platforms think user…

The expected centerpiece of WWDC is a major overhaul of Siri, Apple’s long-criticized voice assistant.

Analysts expect Apple to show a more powerful version of Siri with a standalone chatbot-style app, personal context, on-screen awareness, the ability to handle multi-step commands and deeper routing to outside models, potentially including Google’s Gemini.

For investors, WWDC is a test of whether Apple Intelligence can become a real iPhone upgrade driver — and justify a valuation that already assumes Apple can remain the device of choice for consumers accessing AI, regardless of which model they use.

For developers, it is a test of whether Siri can become a true platform in the agentic era, and one worth building for.

And for Cook, it is a legacy moment.

As John Ternus prepares to take over for Cook as CEO, WWDC gives the company one last major developer stage to show that Apple’s AI strategy is finally coming together.

Dan Newman, CEO of The Futurum Group, told CNBC that Apple Intelligence is “one of the big black eyes” of Cook’s tenure.

“This is clearly the moment that Apple can say, ‘Hey, we are capable of taking advantage of our multi-billion-user install base,'” Newman said, adding that Apple also needs to prove to developers that Siri is “something to build on.”

Winning developers and users

MoffettNathanson wrote this week that Apple’s stock has “done all the work the AI story has yet to do.”

The company enters WWDC at an all-time high, with about 36 times trailing earnings and $1.6 trillion more valuable than a year ago. The firm said Apple is executing exceptionally well, with the strongest iPhone cycle in years, China shifting from a structural worry to a share-gain story and services beating again.

“The question for WWDC26 isn’t ‘will Apple announce a better Siri?’ It almost certainly will,” MoffettNathanson wrote. “The question is ‘does a better Siri justify a multiple that already assumes it works?'”

MoffettNathanson said Siri has to become credibly agentic for the multiple to hold. That means Siri must move from a command portal into an assistant that can reliably execute multi-step tasks across apps.

But that depends on third-party developers making their apps work with App Intents, Apple’s system for letting Siri perform actions inside apps.

The firm said that creates a “chicken-and-egg problem.” Siri only becomes useful if enough developers support it, but developers may wait to see whether consumers actually use it before investing the work.

MoffettNathanson noted that Apple has reportedly lined up early App Intents partners, including Uber, Amazon, Temu, YouTube, WhatsApp, Facebook, Threads and AllTrails.
Lithium developer Controlled Thermal Resources (CTR) plans to go public through a US$4.7 billion merger with special purpose acquisition company Plum Acquisition in a deal aimed at accelerating development of a major geothermal and lithium project in California.

The companies said the transaction will allow CTR to advance construction of its flagship Hell’s Kitchen project in California’s Imperial Valley, one of the most prominent geothermal and lithium developments in the United States.

Once completed, the combined company is expected to trade on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “CTRH.”

SPAC transactions, in which a publicly listed shell company merges with a private firm to take it public, had slowed in recent years but are beginning to regain traction as companies look for alternatives to traditional initial public offerings.

CTR said proceeds from the deal will support the first phase of construction at Hell’s Kitchen.

The initial stage is expected to include lithium carbonate production capacity of up to 25,000 metric tons per year alongside a 50-megawatt geothermal power facility.

At full scale, the broader project is designed to produce up to 650 megawatts of renewable baseload electricity and as much as 100,000 metric tons of lithium carbonate annually, along with other critical minerals including potash, zinc, manganese, rubidium, and cesium.

The project aims to combine geothermal energy generation with lithium extraction from geothermal brine, positioning it as a dual source of clean power and battery materials.

CTR chief executive Rod Colwell said the project reflects growing demand for reliable energy and domestically produced critical minerals.

“Few projects simultaneously address energy security and mineral security at scale. Hell’s Kitchen is structured to deliver clean baseload geothermal power alongside domestically produced strategic critical minerals from a single integrated brine resource,” Colwell said in the official press release.

CTR has raised more than US$285 million in private investment for the project to date and has completed a field development plan with Baker Hughes to support its geothermal energy strategy.

The company has also demonstrated its direct lithium extraction process at a pilot facility using geothermal brine.

Fernando de Leon, founder of Leon Capital Group, started a small lot development company in 2004 with $100,000 and turned it into a $10 billion business, focused mainly on commercial real estate. He did that, he says, by predicting distress, watching the source of capital and leaning on his Harvard degree in evolutionary biology.

While others lost their shirts in the great financial crisis, De Leon began to make his fortune. He left a job at Goldman Sachs to start his own business and was doing some deals in residential lot development. A year in, he said, he saw some of the early indications from subprime mortgages and overbuilding that this was going to be “a difficult cycle change.”

“We basically said, look, we see things here that are fundamentally unsound. We’re going to take these property positions and sell them, and then kind of wait and see what happens,” De Leon told Property Play.

“We divested, we brought back some liquidity, and then we sort of waited, and then in 2008 to 2012 we became fixers. We became people that were able to talk to banks, to life insurance companies, to businesses that had loan exposure, and we were able to solve problems for them,” he said.

De Leon said he turned around projects that had stalled and become problematic for lenders, experience he now says informed his thinking in the early years of the pandemic.

“In 2021, we sold a great deal, several billion dollars of real estate because prices were high, and that was a function of low interest rates and euphoria and bad incentives in the market,” he said. “Part of it is understanding where the capital is coming from. You begin to see participants in the market that shouldn’t be there … and when they match up and that funnels through the supply chain, you begin to see distortion and pricing.”

Now, De Leon said, he’s seeing the same red flags flying over data centers.

“The thing that I can’t quite square is the data center play. I look at a data center that’s $10 billion, right? First of all, there haven’t been any exits above, you know, $4 billion or $5 billion, you haven’t seen comps, so that worries me quite a bit,” he said.

“Then I see large technology companies, the largest companies on the planet, with $4 trillion market cap, saying, ‘I don’t want…

The figures indicate a reversal in the deceleration seen over the past few months. During that time, all-items inflation slowed from a 0.5 percent increase in January to a 0.2 percent gain in February before recording a 0.1 percent decline in March. Similarly, core CPI had slowed to a 0.1 percent increase in March.

Sjors is a physicist turned Bitcoin developer, which believe it or not is actually a pretty common phenomenon. He began contributing to Bitcoin Core in 2017, a very turbulent time during which the activation of Segregated Witness was playing out in the culmination of the block size wars with the User Activated Softfork and the New York Agreement.

He is also the co-host of Bitcoin, Explained, a podcast done with Aaron van Wirdum, the current Editor in Chief of Bitcoin Magazine. Most recently he has also written the book Bitcoin: A Work In Progress, explaining technical aspects of Bitcoin. Each chapter pairs with an episode of the podcast.

We talked about the Bitcoin Core project itself. How it’s organized, what it’s like to work on, and some of the challenges that can pop up for those who take the leap into contributing directly to the Bitcoin Core itself.

Currently at Chaincode Labs, Antoine was previously at Wizardsardine, a bitcoin security company behind Revault, a pre-signed transaction based vault, and Liana, a miniscript based Bitcoin wallet. Antoine’s first commit was merged to Bitcoin Core on May 16th, 2019.

We discussed the Great Consensus Cleanup proposal Antoine is putting forward as a prospective soft fork of the Bitcoin protocol modeled on Matt Corallo’s original verson of the proposal from 2019.

Bitcoin has suffered from numerous bugs over the years, with some notably severe events like the inflation bug from 2010. There are still some bad bugs in the protocol, not that bad, but bad nonetheless.

Antoine talks about these different protocol bugs, and his proposed solutions to address them. Some are arguably merely foot guns that are easy to account for if you are aware of them, but some of them are very serious flaws that could present a real risk to the Bitcoin network.
