The U.S. military said Thursday that a KC-135 military refueling plane was lost while flying over Iraq in an incident that was “not due to hostile or enemy fire.”

The U.S. Central Command said in a statement that the incident involved two aircraft and occurred in friendly airspace. One of the aircraft went down in western Iraq, and the second landed safely, it added.

“The incident occurred in friendly airspace during Operation Epic Fury, and rescue efforts are ongoing, the the U.S. Central Command said, referring to the war against Iran, which led to retaliatory strikes by Tehran across the Middle East.

It was unclear how many U.S. service members were on board the KC-135 refueling aircraft that crashed.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a group of militias in the country backed by Iran, claimed responsibility for the downing of the U.S. aircraft in a statement posted on its Telegram channel.

This is the fourth reported aircraft loss since the Iran war started, after three F-15 fighters were shot down by friendly fire from Kuwait’s air defenses.

The KC-135, which cost $39.6 million in 1998 according to the U.S. Air Force, is normally used to refuel other aircraft in mid-air.

U.S. will be ‘sorry’

The aircraft loss comes as Iran’s security chief, Ali Larijani, said Tehran would make the U.S. “sorry” for starting the war in Iran.

“Trump says he is looking for a speedy victory. While starting a war is easy, it cannot be won with a few tweets,” Larijani said in a post on X early Friday.

His statement followed remarks by Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, that the Strait of Hormuz maritime passage should remain closed as a “tool to pressure the enemy.”

Khamenei also said all U.S. military bases in the Middle East should close immediately and warned that “those bases will be attacked,” in televised comments translated by Reuters.

Despite U.S. President Donald Trump claiming that “we won” in Iran and that the war will end “very soon,” more foreign ships were struck in the Persian Gulf on Thursday.

Iran also warned that oil prices could climb to $200 a barrel, accusing the U.S. of destabilising regional security, Ebrahim Zolfaqari, spokesperson for Iran’s military command, said Wednesday, according to Reuters.

Bitdeer Technologies’ shares slid sharply today after the Singapore-based bitcoin miner and AI data center firm announced plans to raise $300 million through a private sale of convertible senior notes due 2032, a financing move that sparked investor concern over potential dilution.

The company said the offering, aimed at institutional buyers, includes an option for initial purchasers to buy an additional $45 million in notes, which would bring the total raise to $345 million if exercised. The notes will be convertible into cash, Class A ordinary shares, or a combination of both at Bitdeer’s discretion.

Bitdeer’s stock fell over 18% in pre-market trading, dropping below $8 for the first time since April. Shares were down roughly 15% on the day, reflecting market caution about the capital raise and the possibility that future conversions could increase the company’s share count.

Convertible debt offerings often pressure equities because investors anticipate dilution if the stock price rises and noteholders convert their holdings into shares. Bitdeer said it plans to enter into capped call transactions with financial institutions to help offset dilution risk. Such hedging strategies are designed to limit the number of shares issued upon conversion, though they can introduce additional volatility around pricing.

Bitdeer’s Class A share offering

Alongside the note sale, Bitdeer disclosed a separate registered direct offering of Class A ordinary shares to certain holders of its existing 5.25% convertible senior notes due 2029. The company said the number of shares and the price will be determined at the time of pricing.

Proceeds from the offerings will be used primarily to fund capped call transactions and to repurchase a portion of the 2029 notes in privately negotiated deals. Any remaining funds will support expansion of Bitdeer’s data center footprint, as well as growth in its high-performance computing and AI cloud business lines. The company also highlighted ongoing development of ASIC-based mining rigs as part of its longer-term strategy.

Bitdeer said the direct share offering and note repurchases are contingent on completion of the new notes sale, though the notes offering itself can proceed independently.

The announcement comes as Bitdeer accelerates its pivot beyond bitcoin mining toward broader infrastructure services. The company recently reported fourth-quarter revenue of $224.8 million, up 226% year over year, and posted a net profit of $70.5 million compared with a $531.9 million loss in the prior-year quarter.

Bitdeer mined 1,673 bitcoin during the quarter, supported by a managed hashrate of 71 exahash per second, including 55.2 EH/s of self-mining capacity.

The company also held roughly 2,000 BTC on its balance sheet at year-end, though more recent data suggests holdings have declined after liquidations earlier this year to fund expansion.

Bitcoin price has extended its losses, dipping to lows of $105,200 today, following a volatile start to November and ending a remarkable seven-year “Uptober” streak.

After closing October with a 4% decline — the first negative October since 2018 — Bitcoin price faces increased selling pressure amid tighter financial conditions, cautious institutional flows, and macroeconomic headwinds.

The recent correction follows an early-October flash crash that dragged Bitcoin down to $104,000, wiping out much of its Q3 momentum. Despite a partial recovery, BTC remains roughly 14% below its recent peak near $125,000.

At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is at $106,234.

Bitcoin price analysis

Technical charts reveal that Bitcoin recently tested three support lows before sweeping liquidity beneath them.

On the daily timeframe, BTC held a key low within a demand area, which historically has been a strong support level. This zone previously trapped impatient sellers before a bounce, suggesting that BTC may once again find short-term support here.

Zooming into the 15-minute chart, a clean demand zone is forming where Bitcoin could react before making its next directional move, potentially targeting liquidity above current highs. Traders familiar with such setups note that markets often prepare for moves that leave panicking participants behind.

On-chain data offers further insight into Bitcoin’s current position. The Short-Term Holder (STH) Realized Price, which represents the average cost basis for recent buyers, sits around $113,000.

Historically, this level has acted as a dynamic support zone, providing a foundation for accumulation and future upward moves.

Holding above this line signals that short-term participants are at breakeven or slight profit, bolstering market confidence.

The STH Market Value to Realized Value (MVRV) Ratio also highlights potential upside. Multiplying the current STH Realized Price by historical MVRV thresholds projects resistance levels between $160,000 and $200,000, aligning with past cycle patterns.

Long-Term Holder (LTH) MVRV metrics reinforce this outlook, suggesting diminishing returns but potential peaks around $163,000–$165,000.

Rolling MVRV frameworks, including two-year and 100-day analyses, indicate that BTC is still in an accumulation-friendly range, capturing optimal points for entering the market ahead of the next bullish phase.

Bitcoin at $200,000 soon?

Earlier today, Fundstrat’s Tom Lee remained bullish on Bitcoin, predicting it could still surge to $150,000–$200,000 by the end of 2025 despite recent market turbulence.

He noted that the mid-October liquidation event — the largest in crypto history, even bigger than FTX — occurred just weeks ago.

Earlier today, Strategy announced they reinforced its aggressive Bitcoin accumulation approach, purchasing 397 BTC for about $45.6 million at an average price of $114,771 per BTC.

According to a November 3, 2025 SEC Form 8-K filing,…

The U.S. Justice Department said Friday that it has reached a deal with Boeing that will allow the aircraft maker to avoid prosecution over two crashes of its 737 Max planes that killed 346 people.

The non-prosecution agreement would allow Boeing, a major military contractor and top U.S. exporter, to avoid being labeled a felon. The decision means Boeing won’t face trial as scheduled next month, as crash victims’ family members have urged for years.

The Department of Justice met with crash victims’ family members last week to discuss the potential deal.

In a court filing Friday the DOJ said it “is the Government’s judgment that the Agreement is a fair and just resolution that serves the public interest.”

The agreement “guarantees further accountability and substantial benefits from Boeing immediately, while avoiding the uncertainty and litigation risk presented by proceeding to trial.”

The DOJ said it intends to file a motion to dismiss the case once the “agreement in principle” is finalized, by no later than the end of next week.

Under the agreement, Boeing will have to “pay or invest” more than $1.1 billion, the DOJ said in its filing in federal court in Texas on Friday. That amount includes a $487.2 million criminal fine, though $243.6 million it already paid in an earlier agreement would be credited. It also includes $444.5 million for a new fund for crash victims, and $445 million more on compliance, safety and quality programs.

Boeing declined to comment.

The company has been trying for years to put the two crashes of its best-selling Max planes — a Lion Air flight in October 2018 and an Ethiopian Airlines flight less than five months later — behind it. The Maxes were grounded worldwide for nearly two years after the second crash, a pause that gave rival Airbus a head start in recovering from the Covid pandemic.

But families of the crash victims have criticized previous agreements as sweetheart deals for Boeing, called for more accountability from the company and said its executives should stand trial. In 2022, a former chief technical pilot for Boeing was acquitted on fraud charges tied to the Max’s development.

Several of the victims’ family members issued a statement through their lawyer shortly after the court filing was released criticizing the deal and saying it set a troubling precedent for other large companies.

“This kind of non-prosecution deal is unprecedented and obviously wrong for the deadliest corporate crime in U.S. history. My families will object and hope to convince the court to reject it,” said the families’ lawyer, Paul Cassell.

The Justice Department said relatives of more than 110 crash victims told the government they support the non-prosecution agreement or “support the Department’s efforts to resolve the case…
