Shares in waste manager () were given a boost on Wednesday after the group issued a brief update ahead of its AGM.

The firm said that trading for the first three months of its current year had been “in line” with its expectations and that it was continuing to progress with its growth strategy having recently completed a bolt-on acquisition of the trade and assets of WasteCollection.com to its collections business.
Biffa added that its outlook for the full year was “unchanged”.
In early trading, the shares were up 2.5% at 203p.
